It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Retired Waterbury Deputy Chief Edward Groody. Edward retired in 1975 after 32 years of service. Edward's three sons all attained the rank of chief officer in the Waterbury Fire Department. Calling hours will be held for Edward on Tuesday February 3, 2004 5-8PM at Stokes Funeral Home. A funeral will be held for Edward on Wednesday February 4, 2004 (time tba) at Saint Patrick's Church with military and fire department honors at New Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
