Local 1339 Notices » April 2003

4/28/03 Attention WFD Members

Unfortunately the flag raising ceremony for Waterbury FireFighter Joe Bogdanski, who is serving overseas, was postponed to an undetermined date. I will post details when they are released.

4/22/03 Attention WFD Members

On Monday April 28, 2003 6PM there will be a flag-raising ceremony at Waterbury Fire Headquarters. The blue star flag will honor Waterbury firefighters who are serving in the Middle East. FireFighter Joseph Bogdanski, stationed at Headquarters on Engine 10 D-Shift was activated two months ago and is serving in the United Arab Emirates. The flag will fly until our members serving abroad return home.

4/8/03 Attention WFD Members

A retirement party will be held for Waterbury Fire Department Assistant Chief James Trainor on Thursday May 1, 2003 7PM at The Hills restaurant in Waterbury. Jim spent 32 years with the Waterbury Fire Department, rising to the rank of Assistant Chief. He placed number one on the Meriden test and was hired as Fire Chief. Congratulations Jimmy and good luck - you will be missed. Tickets are $30.00 and there is a cash bar. Contact Mari in the Chief's Office or call the Deputy's Officed for tickets.

4/2/03 Attention WFD Members

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of James Ducey, father of Waterbury FireFighter Brian Ducey, assigned to Truck 2 on the D Shift. A memorial service will be held Sunday April 6, 2003 2PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Cornwall.
