Our condolences to the Tiegs family and the Amherst Fire District
of Wisconsin. FireFighter Jeffrey Tiegs, 47, an 11 year veteran of
the Amherst Fire District died Monday November 24, 2003. Jeffrey
collapsed and died from an apparent heart attack as he dismounted
the fire engine he had driven to the scene of a minor traffic
accident at U.S. 10 and State 161. Jeffrey was transported to St.
Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point and was pronounced dead.
A visitation for Jeffrey will be held on Friday November 28, 2003
3-8PM at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst. A funeral will be
held for Jeffrey on Saturday November 29, 2003 11AM at Peach
Lutheran Church in Amherst. The Professional Firefighters of
Wisconsin State Honor Guard will be present at both the visitation
and the service.
