Our condolences to the Fraley family and the Macon Fire Department
of Mississippi. Fire Chief Charlie Fraley, 65, a 50 year veteran of
the Macon Fire Department, died Saturday April 12, 2008. Charlie
was operating at a structure fire at the Noxubee Votech Center when
he became ill and had shortness of breath. He was transported to
Noxubee Medical Center where he passed away shortly after.

Charlie joined the Macon Fire Department as a young teenager and
had been the Fire Chief for the past 27 years. During his tenure he
was elected as Fireman of the Year and was responsible for making
Macon Fire Department one of the best equipped and highest-rated small
town volunteer fire departments in the state.

Our brother Charlie leaves behind his wife Ellenor, his daughter
Shannon, and his son Charles. A visitation for Charlie will be held
on Monday April 14, 2008 5-9PM at his home. A funeral service for
Charlie will be held on Tuesday April 15, 2008 10AM at Independent
Methodist Church in Macon. In lieu of flowers the family has requested
