Waterbury Fire Commissioner Chairman Chris Casey took some photos at a
gas meter fire yesterday morning. The call came in as a gas leak but was upgraded
to a full assignment after a working structure fire sizeup. Apparently the home owner
drove into the gas meter at the rear of the garage causing a gas leak that was quickly
ignited. Engine 4 and Engine 2 kept the fire from spreading to the upper floors while
we waited for Yankeegas to arrive and shut the gas off at the street. There are 12
new photos in the
Chris Casey
